Vocal for Local

Recently, Our Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi suggested us to support and encourage Indian Products and help the GDP and local businesess to flourish. When he addressed the nation, he highlighted the importance of encouraging the self-reliant economy in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. He gave the word ‘Aatmnirbhar’ or Self-reliance to make the Indian economy stronger. He also mentioned the importance of the local economy, and a phase was highlighted “Be Vocal for Local.” We have made a list of Made in India brands which you can consider while buying new things and support Indian economy which will further help ₹ value to become strong and thus helping in lowering the prices and decrease inflation. 

List of Indian Products 

Firstly, here is a list of Made in India brands arranged in different categories. We have also inserted a table below. So you can easily have a quick look at all brands. Both foreign and Indian brands offer quality products. Most importantly, some of the Indian products use herbal/ ayurvedic ingredients. For instance, Patanjali Dant Kanti. So, those are beneficial for health. Also, local products are usually less expensive compared to foreign products. 

So, here is the list:

Soap

There are foreign brands like Liril, Pears, Lifebuoy, which we should replace with the Indian soap brands to contribute are Economy. There are many India Brands which makes herbal soaps as well so that it does not harm your skin. Some Indian soap brands are: 

• Medimix, Santoor, No. 1, Cinthol, Margo, Himalaya, Patanjali Soaps, Mysore, Nirma

Battery

There are Foreign brands like Eveready and Duracell very famous throughout the Indian Subcontinent. But we should try to switch to Indian brands The Indian brands are as follow.

•   Nippo, Godrej GP

Automobiles

The profit from the Auto industry plays a significant role in India’s GDP. Indian market is filled with various Indian as well as foreign brands. Tata, Bajaj, Mahindra, Hero, TVS and more are Indian Automobiles Giant. And people are already buying from many Indian brands. Many people buy foreign brands for luxury cars. for their information, Jaguar is owned by Tata so they can preferably go for it. To conclude, Indian Automobiles helps to grow the economy.

Soft Drinks

Famous brands like Pepsi and Coke are foreign-based. Most of the cold drinks we consume are foreign, but We have Indian alternatives For Foreign Products like Frooti, Maaza, Paper Boat and Real. So, these soft drinks brands are good to choose to support the  Vocal for Local campaign.

Dairy Products and Ice cream

Amul is a dairy product giant based in India. Made in India Amul products are also being exported to other countries. Parle and Britania are Indian Biscuits brands. For the Ice cream need, there are India brands like Vadilal, Amul, Havmor. Not just these, we can use local dairy products to support Vocal for Local.  

Cafe

Starbucks, Costa Coffee and McDonald’s are some of the  foreign Cafe brands. Café Coffee Day, Coffee roaster, Blue Tokai, KC Roasters are perfect Make in India alternatives for the foreign companies.  

Skincare Products

Foreign skincare brands such as Pond’s, Nivea, L’oreal, Garnier are widely used in the Indian market. They are present in most of the salons and should be replaced with Make in India products. These are some Make in India brands: Vicco, Himalaya, Roop Mantra, Lotus, Shahnaz Hussein, and Biotique which can be used as alternatives for foreign products. 

Toothpaste

Many foreign brands like Pepsodent, Oral-B, Colgate. Sensodyne have taken a major part of the Indian market. They are present in most of the Indian houses. There are several Indian alternatives like Patanjali Dant Kanti, Dabur Red, Babool, Amar, Meswak. Moreover, as these brands use Aayurvedik ingredients they are beneficial for health and comparatively less expensive.

Shaving Cream

In Indian Market several foreign brands like Axe, Gillette are  leading in the Shaving Cream category. These brands are imported from foreign countries are thus do not help in building our economy. Therefore, to support Vocal for Local campaign, we should consider buying products of these Make in India brands: 

• Vicco, Godrej, Vi-John, Park Avenue

Washing Powder

Washing powder brands like Wheel, Vanish, Ariel, Tide and Surf Excel are popular. But there are some less expensive and good quality Make In India alternatives For Foreign Products. The following brands are Indian brands, therefore, you should consider buying them and support the Indian GDP:

Moov and Iodex are foreign Pain relief. You can use the following Indian brands to support Vocal for Local:
